Counselling and Psychotherapy in Bedford, Luton or Cambridgeshire.
Why seek counselling?
There is a time in the lives for many of us when we realise that talking to a counsellor/psychotherapist can help us with our problems, regardless of whether these problems come from something specific in our lives, relationships or a feeling that there is something unresolved within ourselves. You maybe feeling depressed, stressed, anxious, have been bereaved or feel uncertain about your sexuality or what you really want.
The decision to start therapy however is often difficult. It involves talking about a range of personal conditions which you may not have been able to express before. It requires some element of hope, trust and courage. It also suggests a desire to want to change or resolve a difficult life situation or your relationship with yourself and others.
It can be daunting contacting a counsellor; you are welcome to 'phone or email me any questions before deciding to arrange an initial consultation. My counselling room is in Bedford, near to the town centre.

I work in Bedford and offer a confidential setting in which to talk about whatever issues may be troubling you, whether that is anxiety, depression or other difficult feelings; a traumatic life event, difficulty in a relationship or a general sense of loss of meaning or fulfilment.
I will listen carefully to you and think about what you are saying; this can create a sense of space and quiet which may feel strange initially; different from having a conversation with a friend. However, being listened to by a thoughtful and curious therapist can bring relief, build trust and help talk about issues more openly and honestly.
My Background is working as a speech and Language therapist for many years in the NHS. I am also an experienced psychotherapist, training and gaining an MA in London, initially working there and then setting up my counselling and psychotherapy practice in Bedford in 2014. I see people with a range of issues and from diverse backgrounds. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of supporting you to find your own answers and to lead a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
